Frequently Asked Questions

I’m not sure if I need Physiotherapy. How do I know if you can help me?
If you are not sure then the best thing to do is to call us. The receptionist will take your message and arrange for a therapist to call you back to discuss your situation. It is best to have your injury assessed early to avoid it from becoming worse and causing other complications.
How do I make an appointment?
Arranging an appointment is easy! Just call our friendly receptionist at 6736 4142 during office hours and an appointment will be organized for you at your earliest convenience. If you require assistance outside office hours, you can simply send us an email or leave us a phone message and one of our staff will get back to you as soon as possible.

How do I make an appointment? What will I expect on my first visit?
Your first visit will incorporate the initial assessment and treatment. A detailed history of your present condition and medical status will be taken, followed by a methodical and thorough physical examination. The diagnosis of your present condition will be discussed with you, together wth the treatment plan.
How long do the appointments last?
Session time varies depending on the condition, but typically the initial consultation takes 1 hour and subsequent sessions take 40-60 minutes.
Can I be seen at home as it may not be convenient for me to get to the clinic?
Yes. We can arrange home visits. We also have portable equipment that we can bring along if needed.
Do I have to undress to be assessed?
It mainly depends on the site of the injury. To assess an injury properly, we need to see the area fully and may need to see the joint above and below. For spinal injuries, it is necessary to see most of the body. It is best to wear well-fitted underwear and to bring some shorts with you. We operate in a very professional manner and respect the wishes of our clients. We aim to keep you as comfortable as possible. You are welcome to bring a friend or family member with you to sit in during the session if you like.
How is Physio Asia different from other clinics?
At Physio Asia Therapy Centre, we focus your treatment session on you. We do not believe in double-booking slots which means you will have your therapist’s undivided attention. This allows us to give you focused quality treatments and spend time working through your rehabilitation process with you. Our therapists are regularly updating their skills and knowledge base so we can provide you with the best care. We work closely with your Doctor, personal trainer or your team coach to help you recover from your injury and return to your best state as soon as possible.
How often will I need to come for Physiotherapy?
Your physiotherapy care will depend on the assessment taken by your Physiotherapist. The average schedule is 1-3 times per week, to beginning with reducing frequency as you improve. Your schedule will depend on the degree of your injury/dysfunction and your available time. However, we aim to have your pain significantly reduced within 3-4 weeks and have you fully fit and back to all of your normal activities within 3 months.
What do I need to bring with me?
If you have any x-ray films or MRI scans of the injured part of your body, it can be useful to bring those with you to aid our assessment. In addition to that, we need to know about any health conditions you may suffer from, or medications that you are currently taking. If you can’t remember all the names, please write them down and bring the list along with you. It is often helpful to bring a change of shorts and t-shirt if we are treating the knee, hip, back or shoulder, or if you are going to be working through an exercise session.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes, we do. Time is precious for all of us so we ask that for all cancellations/rescheduling of appointments, give us at least 12 hours notice. If a session is canceled with less than 12 hours notice twice, we will charge for subsequent cancellations at 50% of the treatment charge.
Is there any medical condition that the therapist needs to be aware of before I start any form of treatment?
Yes, please inform us when making your appointment if you have a pacemaker or if you are pregnant. This is to help us organize a treatment cubicle for you which will be away from machines that may not be safe for you
