Monika Verma, PT, AHPC registered

Managing Director

Graduated as a Physiotherapist, she holds clinical experience of over 30 years. She is also a registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) UK, HCPC (UK) and the Singapore Physiotherapy Association (MSPA).

Her main interest lies in Breathing mechanics and posture and alignment and chronic pain management. Monika is certified in Postural respiration , Postural and Pelvic restoration as well as Buteyko Clinic Method for breathing techniques.

Her experience includes working with the Singapore General Hospital, Mt. Elizabeth Medical Centre and in a private sector. She has gained over 24 years of experience in private practice and outpatient set-up and is involved in Clinical Services Management, protocol Developments, clinical education and Operational Management for Out-Patient Services.

Monika’s strength lies in managing Clinical Orthopaedic Rehabilitation and Pain Management. She is also involved in the development of SCORES – a spinal core stability program using Achievo Pressure Biofeedback and Real-Time Ultrasound that is presently being used in Physio Asia branches and other physiotherapy practices around South-east Asia region.

Major Accomplishments:

  • Presented on SCORES at Association of South-east Asian Pain Societies Congress (ASEAPS 2015) in Manila, Philippines
  • Invited to present at Rehabilitative Ultrasound Imaging (RUSI) International Symposium (2015) at the Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, Korea
  • Conducted Pre-congress workshop on SCORES with Felicity Kermode at World Lumbo-Pelvic Pain Congress, Singapore (2016)
  • Invited speaker at physiotherapy convention Apollo hospitals Delhi, India (2017)
  • Conducts training sessions for SCORES in South East Asia including Malaysia, Korea, Philippines and India.
  • Conducts talks for corporates on ergonomics, posture corrections and back n neck pain in Singapore.
  • Establishing standards in the organisation to help achieve the various awards for Physio Asia Therapy Centre
  • Monika also mentors undergraduate/postgraduate physiotherapy students from USA or Singapore on clinical placements.

Dinesh Verma, PT, AHPC registered, MCSP, MSPA

Director

A Physiotherapist and MBA-Gold Medallist, an accomplished Professional and an Entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience, Dinesh is also the Director of Physio Asia Therapy Centre. He plays a strategic development role towards the growth of the clinic and its franchise and licensing models. He is actively involved in development of new technologies and has key competencies in Electro-Physical Agents.

Dinesh has keen interest in Technology development and implementation and is actively involved in development of such new technologies – He is founder of SCORES- spinal core stability program– that uses Imaging Ultrasound and Pressure biofeedback as an integrated system for Back and Neck Pain Management.

Dinesh has conducted over 50 workshops on Electro-Physical Agents and Electro-Therapy Applications for Swallowing disorders across Asia, Australia, Italy and Spain and has led to the growth of this technique across Asia Pacific.

Dinesh also served as the President of Singapore Physiotherapy Association Year 2012 – 2014 and currently serving as Secretary General of AWP-WCPT and Co-Chairperson of World Lumbo Pelvic Pain Congress Singapore concluded in Nov 2016.

Danielle has over 22 years’ experience in providing holistic physiotherapy care for adults and children of all ages. Qualifying as a physiotherapist in 1996 (Australia), Danielle has worked both in the public and private health care systems in Australia, UK and Singapore. She is a registered member of SPA (Singapore), Incontinence Association (Australia) and HCPC (UK).

Through personal experience and clinical practice Danielle’s passion is in the prevention and management of chronic pain both pre and post pregnancy. She is also passionate about empowering her clients (both male and female) with the knowledge to develop their inner core muscle strength, strengthen their pelvic floors, and lower back and abdominal muscles, so that they maintain a happy active life style.

Danielle’s treatment approach involves a combination of physiotherapy skills, a functional approach to postures and movements and life skills.

Danielle has a post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Physiotherapy (Continence & Woman’s Health), and is now working towards the completion of her Master’s in Women’s Health. She is also the only certified Manutention Manual and Patient in Singapore;  certified in (transfer and movement) of patients, heavy loads, people with disabilities and or injuries, safe ergonomic postures and movements for sports, daily functioning and working at the office.

Graduating with a Physiotherapy degree from Curtin University in Australia, Pooja has had experience working in various clinical settings including neurological, cardiopulmonary, women’s health and musculoskeletal settings in both Australia and Singapore.

Additionally, having worked in KK Women’s and children’s Hospital in Singapore, Pooja has had experience working with the paediatric population and in the women’s inpatient wards. She has also conducted land exercise classes for women on the osteoporosis spectrum and antenatal hydrotherapy classes. 

Pooja’s main interest lies in Musculoskeletal rehab, dance injuries and sports injuries. She has been trained in 3D GAIT ANALYSIS which is used for diagnosing and treating running injuries.

Pooja is a certified GEMt Level 1 Dry Needler. 

She is very active in the circus/aerial arts community and practices both aerial silks and aerial hoop herself. She is well versed in dance and performance related injuries.

Peter has over 15 years of clinical experience: home-care, and on-site public and private practice in Singapore and Australia. Graduating with a Physiotherapy degree from the University of Sydney in 1999, he has treated a wide range of conditions – from adults to children with pain and mobility impairments as well as office and home-based workers to sports enthusiasts with pain.

Peter is a certified practitioner of FMI RockTape, IASTM tools, and Trigger Point Therapy all of which he finds helpful in treating musculoskeletal disorders. His keen interest is in the Shoulder and Spine injuries, and is currently developing other interests in dry needling and electrotherapy.

He enjoys learning about his clients and their expectations for their physiotherapy visits and aims to empower them by helping them make informed decisions for their recovery, based on their lifestyle needs. Peter is constantly driven to learn “how to learn” from his clients by listening to them and offering better solutions to their problems.

His guiding thoughts on a patient-centric, holistic approach focuses on two things: 1) encouraging the body’s natural healing processes through physiotherapy and wellness, and 2) utilizing the latest technology in physiotherapy, driven by evidence-based science.

Gitanjali has over 16 years of professional experience gained across reputed hospitals and clinics. She is well versed in a broad range of therapies like Manual therapy, Electrotherapy and Exercise therapy.

Her key focus areas are clinical rehabilitation and pain management. She has skills in the Bio-mechanical aspect of musculoskeletal rehabilitation, including APOS therapy and ICB Orthotics. 

Gitanjali is also a FISAF certified Aqua Fitness Therapist. She uses Aqua therapy greatly for strengthening, post-operative rehabilitation, Arthritis management and weight management.

Her passion is to her patients by actively engaging with them as also by way of a holistic usage of the above mentioned tools.

Qualifying as a physiotherapist in 2002, Swati completed her masters in (Keele University UK) in 2006.

She is a registered member of HCPC (UK) APHRA (Australia), MAPA (Australia), MIAP (India)

Having worked across a variety of settings, clinical as well as research in UK, Australia and India besides regular physiotherapy, she also had been conducting Hydrotherapy classes in community care. Her main interest is in Musculo- skeletal physiotherapy.

Swati is involved in clinical development of protocols, Clinical standards and Physio Asia Academy to help co-ordinate clinic’s educational activities locally and overseas.

Shwikar is holds an experience of 26 years in sports and Musculo-skeletal injuries and she started her career at the Singapore Sports Council and worked there for about 18 years. She worked with the National athletes (all sports), managing their sports injuries and also injury prevention. She travelled with the different teams for their major games as well as major games such as the 2000 Sydney Olympics, 2004 Athens Paralympics, numerous SEA Games and Asian games.

Since leaving sports council, she worked with some private clinics as well as Football Association Singapore and Singapore Sports School. Prior to joining Physio Asia she had been in private practice working with several schools, including dance schools.

On top of clinical work, she also taught in Sports Trainer course, Sports Massage course and Taping workshops.

Graduating locally from the physiotherapy programme in Singapore, Shannon completed his Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at Trinity College Dublin. Shannon’s interest in Physiotherapy began at a young age when he underwent multiple surgeries to correct his limb length discrepancy. After each surgery, he worked closely with his physiotherapist to regain his mobility. This inspired him to pursue a career in Physiotherapy.

Having been a patient himself, Shannon understands the needs of the clients’ and is constantly motivated to maximize their rehabilitation. In addition to manual techniques and therapeutic exercises, he strongly believes in educating clients to empower them to manage their condition in the long run.

Joanna obtained her Diploma in Occupational Therapy (Merit) from Nanyang Polytechnic in 2006, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (1st class Honours) from La Trobe University, Australia, a year later. Upon graduation, she worked in Changi General Hospital and Sengkang General Hospital, where she specialized primarily in hand therapy and upper limb rehabilitation. Over the past 13 years, she has had the pleasure of working with both hand and orthopaedic surgeons in providing quality therapy services for clients with a variety of hand and upper limb conditions, including fractures, sprains/strains, tendon injuries, nerve injuries, repetitive strain disorders and complex trauma injuries.

In 2015, Joanna attained a Master of Science in Health Ergonomics (Merit) from University of Derby, UK. Since then, she has been extensively involved in the provision of ergonomics consultancy, workplace evaluations, and educational talks/workshops to both corporate and public sectors.

Joanna is a firm believer in building good rapport with her clients and enjoys engaging with individuals from all walks of life. She is a proponent of client-centred care and advocacy, striving to ensure that her treatment plans are customised to the needs of each unique individual. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, reading, travelling, as well as the occasional binge-watching of Netflix.

She has a great personality with a very pleasant appearance and excellent communication skills. Whether you are calling with a query, to make an appointment or settling your bill at the end of a successful session you will find her to be extremely helpful and professional.

Junaidah Binte Mohamed Salleh is currently the admin and clinic assistant of our Siglap centre branch. She is a focused and committed worker with her years of experience in the service industry, being proactive towards customers’ needs and responsive to any queries. She is tactful and exudes warmth to everyone she meets.

She is a family person and loves travelling.

 

Noor Edeani is new to the team at Orchard branch. She is cheerful and bubbly . Her experience in previous sectors and her friendly and courteous demeanor will make you feel comfortable. She believes in providing great customer service and will be happy to assist in queries, bookings and payments anytime. She spends her time bonding with her family during off work hours.
